Widely inspired by underground sound system culture and collectives like Spaz Sound System, 5lowershop Sound System, Renegade Virus Sound System, Lov Viz, Konkrete Jungle and Black Kat NYC. Bassbot Sound System came about as a Junglist sound crew out of Queens, New York in 2001. Composed of Music Producers, DJ's, Artists and Community Activists, Bassbot gained recognition for putting events together like Revolution Junglist; a Jungle, Breakcore, Ragga Jungle weekly at Castle Heights in Jackson Heights, Queens, New York. Press Play; a series of Jungle, Drum & Bass parties at Karma Hooka Lounge in the Lower East Side of Manhattan, New York. Sound Unity Project; a three day camp out on the Adirondack Mountains of New York, focused on exposing New York City urban youth to nature while enjoying electronic music and Strictly Jungle; a Jungle, Drum & Bass weekly in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, New York.
In 2005 Bassbot Sound System began traveling across the United States on the infamous Bass Bus (a waste vegetable oil powered diesel N.Y.C. School Bus), providing logistical support to local artist collectives and sound crews. Teaming up with Other World, 5lowershop Sound System & S.P.A.Z. Sound System in the Bay Area of California to host local events.
In 2007 Bassbot Sound System teamed up with Reactionary PDX and Low Viz in Portland, Oregon to host amongst many events a series of outlaw parties at the Last Thursday Art Walk. Bassbot, Reactionary, Pan Zen & Lo Viz we're essential in breeding a dominant breakcore scene in the area. At times participating in events as far north as Seattle, Washington and as far south as Asheville, Oregon. Having conquered Mt. Hood with sound and founding Konkrete Jungle PDX. Bassbot Sound System was a contributing factor in building a progressive electronic music community in the Northwest.
In 2009 Bassbot teamed up with crews like Atlanta Dubstep and The Horrible Children in Atlanta G.A. to host a series of events. Using Atlanta G.A. as a launch pad for South America and an organizational hub for Inca-tek 2012 Ecosystem Festival.
November 2012 Bassbot Sound System arrives in the Inka Capital of Qosco to host Inca-tek 2012 Ecosystem Festival. A Free Autonomous World Gathering which took place in the Sacred Valley of the Incas, Pisac, Cusco, Peru. Bringing together likeminded people from every region on this planet to share a hands on experience in International Community Development through electronic music during the 2012 galactic alignment.
Today Bassbot Sound System resides in "La Ciudad Blanca" of Arequipa, Peru... Breeding another generation of DJ’s, Music Producers and Community Activists, promoting Underground Sound System Culture.
